Fall 2013 Trade Show Wrap-Up

In September and October, we were quite busy at many different trade shows! Clear-Com exhibited at the 135th AES Convention, IBC, and ITC, not to mention our presence at the First Choice Marketing A/V Show, the Alliance Tech Expo, Rocky Mountain AVX, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Clinic, and the Broadcast and Technology Expo.

If you had missed any of them, check out some of our highlights below!

IBC (Sept. 13th-17th / Amsterdam) 

A total of 52,974 attendees – conference delegates, exhibition visitors, exhibitors and press –  from over 170 countries came together at IBC 2013 to share knowledge, conduct valuable business and set the industry agenda. The show provided nearly everything you may need to know about electronic media and the  entertainment industry. Perhaps you knew that already, but did you know that Clear-Com's partyline and matrix intercoms have been used for IBC TV News for years?

Also, while at the show, Clear-Com (Stand 10.D29) announced some new capabilities of the Eclipse HX as well as the latest enhancements to the Tempest2400. In fact, the new Tempest Line Extender won the “STAR” Award from the Editors of TV Technology Europe.

135th AES Convention (Oct. 17th-20th / New York City, NY)
The AES Convention is the world’s largest gathering of audio professionals. They convened to discuss and explore the latest audio innovations through workshops, tutorials, technical papers, booth exhibits and product showcases. Clear-Com (Booth #3030) displayed its enhanced Eclipse HX Digital Matrix, HelixNet™ Partyline, RS-700 Series Analog Partyline Beltpacks, ICON Connectivity Solutions, and the Tempest® Wireless Intercoms.

International Telemetering Conference (Oct. 21st-24th / Las Vegas, NV)

ITC is an annual forum and technical exhibition sponsored by the International Foundation for Telemetering (IFT). Clear-Com (Booth #428) demonstrated its latest intercom advancements for telemetry applications at the show.

Here are some key highlights from our trade shows in August!

Alliance Annual Meeting and Tech Expo (August 12 -13, 2013, Chicago, IL)

Alliance Productions hosted the Alliance Annual Meeting and Tech Expo. The event brought together the leading mobile TV equipment companies with the latest gear. Clear-Com demonstrated its EclipseHX-Delta matrix intercom, V-Series panels, wireless intercoms and more at the show.

  

AUVSI Unmanned Systems 2013 (August 12 -15, 2013, Washington, D.C.)

AUVSI Unmanned Systems 2013 is the largest international unmanned systems conference. This year, 8,000 attendees from over 40 countries attended the show. Clear-Com highlighted many of its new products at booth #2806 as well as announced it exclusive equipment trade-in promotion.

BIRTV (August 21-24, 2013, Beijing, China)

Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) is the most influential exhibition in the broadcasting industry in Asia with over 50,000 attendees each year. It was a great success for Clear-Com (Booth #8A10)! Many people gathered to get a demo of our new RS-701 beltpacks, FreeSpeak wireless intercom, Tempest2400 wireless intercom and  Eclipse HX-Delta matrix system.

ICON Application: Connecting Cities

Today's productions are becoming more complex as facilities need intercom connectivity between multiple locations. It is crucial that the production teams have a seamless connection, whether they are in the same building or in a different country. Clear-Com's ICON Connectivity Solutions help bridge the communication connections, regardless of distance, for any given situation.

Here's a real life example of where ICON can help:

A Clear-Com user asks, "I have a TV station in one city and a sister station in another city, and we need to link these locations. What should I do?"

Eclipse HX Matrix Intercoms

Answer: You can use your Eclipse HX matrix system in City A and link it to your Eclipse HX matrix in City B through the VoICE 2.0 interface, which connects 4-channels of 4-wire circuits over IP. On our larger matrix frames, such as the Eclipse HX-Omega, HX-Median, and HX-Delta, we have the IVC-32 card for efficient IP connectivity. 
 
If you already have a partyline intercom system (2-wire), you can connect to this using additional products. The IF4W4 is a 2-to 4-wire converter. This will allow you to tap into all your existing channels of partyline. Or, if you only want to connect to individual channels, then you can choose the EF-701M.

New Products at NAB 2013 

Eclipse HX Matrix Family, featuring NEW HX-Delta
The Eclipse HX systems offer a wide range of powerful matrix frames that are perfect for dynamic productions, enabling users to rapidly execute system changes and easily manage the configuration software. The new Eclipse HX-Delta matrix system is a cost-effective, 3RU intercom solution that can be conveniently installed in places where space is limited or throughout a multi-level studio facility. This infrastructure permits shorter cable runs and puts users closer to their intercoms.

HelixNet Partyline with Linking
With cabling simplicity, high channel density, and network capabilities, HelixNet Partyline is the leading digital partyline intercom for productions requiring quick set-up and multiple channels of intercom. The new HelixNet Partyline v1.1 enables linking between HelixNet systems to extend digital partyline communications to multiple sites over fiber or LAN, eliminating the need for long cable runs. Up to 20 audio channels, five program audio feeds and power for beltpacks are supported over a single shielded twisted-pair cable.

Concert v2.7
Clear-Com Concert is a secure and scalable solution for providing high-quality voice communication within a single venue or between multi-site facilities over an IP infrastructure. The new software upgrade to Concert v2.7 enables an unlimited number of remote Interface Gateway servers and allows the ability to seamlessly integrate external audio sources, such as Clear-Com equipment or other third-party analog equipment. Concert v2.7 also offers improvements in the web-based management interface, making the system even more user-friendly.

Tempest Enhancements
Feature-rich wireless intercoms in two or four channel offerings, the 2.4 GHz Tempest2400 and 900 MHz Tempest900 deliver cutting-edge RF technologies to ensure interference-free communications. The Tempest2400's unique Seamless Roaming feature enables continuous wireless coverage across an expanded production space, giving crew members reliable communication in multi-studio and multi-floor facilities. The latest Tempest900 BeltStation is equipped with an advanced Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) to offer more range in wireless coverage. The new Tempest Remote Transceiver Line Extender also increases coverage by extending the systems' cable run distance of a remote antenna by 3,000ft (914m) with one Line Extender or 2,000ft (609m) per Line Extender if using more than one Line Extender. Limit 3 Line Extenders per system.

Jan. 2013 Tradeshow Wrap-Up

Integrated Systems Europe (January 29-31, 2013) 

ISE is one of the world’s best attended tradeshows for the professional AV and electronic systems industry. It was held at Amsterdam RAI this year, drawing ever-growing numbers of manufacturers, distributors, dealers, contractors, consultants and customers from fields such as education, sports, corporate facilities, hospitality and live events. Clear-Com demonstrated its recently unveiled Eclipse HX matrices and HelixNet Partyline system. AFCEA West (January 29-31, 2013) 
AFCEA West is the largest event on the West Coast for communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems, imaging, military weapon systems, aviation, and shipbuilding. The exhibition was well attended by professionals in aviation, command and control, public safety and more. Clear-Com showed a wide array of our intercom solutions including the Tempest2400, Encore, and Eclipse. 

MCI Hamburg Open (January 24, 2013) 
MCI Hamburg Open is the annual media industry event in Germany for broadcast and media professionals interested in the latest technologies and solutions. Hundreds of visitors and over 70 exhibitors were at the event. Clear-Com presented its Eclipse HX digital matrix intercom solution.

September Tradeshow Wrap-Up

IBC (September 7-11, 2012 / Amsterdam, Netherlands)

IBC2012 was the largest IBC exhibition ever, with over 50,937 attendees from over 160 countries, including conference delegates, broadcast professionals and exhibitors. IBC provides an essential guide to the latest technologies, business models and innovations at the forefront of electronic media and entertainment.
